John "Dr. John" 'Chaffin

There are lead guitar players and then there are lead guitar players of John Chaffin’s caliber. John began learning guitar at the age of 15. He claims to be totally self taught, except for the techniques and parts other people taught him. (joke) Having played with such artists as Eddie VanHalen and Billy Cobham and great California bands such as Spirit, Firefall, Jo Jo Gunn and Streetnoise. This California native claims his greatest influences were The Beatles, Hendrix, Clapton and Creedence. A true fan of the many 60’s and early 70’s artists, John has captured the ability to carry on the sounds of John Fogarty, along with many other musical greats.

Charlie "The ICEMAN" Isom

Charlie “The Iceman” Isom, comes to us from Falls Church, Virginia, where he started playing the drums at the early age of 14. Charlie had the pleasure of playing with the renowned U.S.Navy band “Uncle Jam” for a year and a half, while touring the Pacific Ocean overseas off the coast of Japan. His latest endeavor was playing with another great band , “Night Owl” for the past 8 years. Charlie is not only an outstanding drummer, he is also a truly amazing vocalist with a range that’s hard to believe. He truly awes those who are fortunate enough to see him perform live.

Bill is a native Washingtonian and started playing guitar at age 8. “As a kid he would go to sleep with a transistor radio under his pillow listening to WINX radio and hearing all the great acts of the 60’s.”  His passion has honest roots. Over the last forty years Bill has played in many bands in the DC area with some of the area's finest musicians and immersed himself in a wide range of styles.  With such acts as “Matrix”, “Bottles Empty”, “The Stiffys”, “Radiomime”, and “HotRoxy”, and now The Wildcard Band, he has proven time after time that he can fill the air with that certain something that just gets your attention and doesn’t let go.

Carl Jones, master of the bass guitar, backup vocalist and now the newest member of The WildCard Band, has been a veteran of the Northern Virginia Music scene for over thirty years, playing in such bands as August, The Jerry Moore Band, Worx, Kingpin, Quaver, The Stiffys, Radio Mime and Hot Roxy. Carl's bands have opened for nationally known acts such as Dokken, Vince Neil of Motley Crue, Rick Wakeman of Yes, and John Entwistle, late bassist from The Who, to name a few.

It was late in 1999 that the Stiffys played alongside of The Wildcard Band at C.J. Nickels in Springfield, Va. Both Carl and Bill were members of the Stiffys. Here we are some 10+ years later and have basically merged into who we are now. You never know where our paths may take us in life, but in this particular case, it sure led all of us to one grand meeting spot!
